Board Member Resignation and New Schools Coming to Conroe ISD

There is a lot of news coming out of the Conroe ISD board of trustees this week. After Scott Moore announced his resignation in August, his position has been filled by board President Skeeter Hubert after a vote was taken by the other board members. Moore's positon was not up for re-election in November.

In other big news, the Caney Creek High School and Grand Oaks School feeder zones are at 101% capacity. This information was being reviewed ahead of the opening of two new schools in August 2023 - Veterans Memorial Intermediate School and Christopher J. Hines Elementary School.

The board also approved the purchase of a 20 acre school site for a new elementary school in The Woodlands High School feeder zone as well as three other tracts for school sites in the Grand Oaks High School feeder zone which will become a secondary school and two elementary schools.
